Hello. My name is Helen and I have been a lurker for quite a while. I figured it was time to come forward and make myself know, especially since I got my surgery date today. I will having my procedure done on July 18th. I am so excited. I can't wait to get an improved me! I have to say that you guys give great advice and have put many of my nerves at ease. I will try not to be a stranger.
Hi Helen, welcome to the board. I don't get to post much but I do read every morning while I drink my coffee. It helps to know that I'm not alone in this lifelong battle. I'm hoping to be able to post more and actually attend some of the seminars now that I'm off for the summer. You have a wonderful surgeon. I can't say enough good things about her. She did my lapband in November. She's tough but she is good. Good luck! Jules
Hi Helen!
Welcome to your new home-away-from-home! At least, that's how I feel about this forum! You will get so much information here. Just take what you need and leave the rest!
I hope to see you on here as often as possible. And, don't forget about the local support group meetings too!
Jules

Welcome Helen. Congrats on your date! You've picked a great time to have the surgery. I had mine in August of last year and found this time of year perfect for going out on walks...you won't regret this. At first, you may ask yourself, did i do the right thing? But months from now you'll say, why didn't I do this sooner! Good luck,, the RI community is great!
