6 month update...

So i know I've been MIA lately and I'm really going to try to come on more, I PROMISE! Monday I had my 6 month follow up with Dr Pohl and he was thrilled with my progress. He said I'm wayyyy ahead. My labs looked good, except my Vitamin D level and calcium levels were somewhat low. I've lost a grand total of 146 lbs, putting me at 185 right now which is the lowest I have been since Jr High school.  He said I am officially a success and he thinks I can probably make my "ideal" weight  but was very upfront about saying not to get disappointed if I dont because I probably have at least 20 lbs of excess skin to come off later. When you think about it that way, I'm really only 22 lbs away from "ideal". (143 + 20 lbs Skin) That made me feel great!  There was one thing he did say that really struck a chord with me and I never want to forget though. He told me that even though I've done so well and I'm doing everything right, never to forget that deep down inside I have a weight problem.  I think thats important for all of us to remember. Something got us to the point that we needed to have this surgery. It could have been personal, physical or emotional...but something got us here and we should always remember that.

Hey Angela... thats a great 6mo follow-up. Im so proud of you. I do understand about "having a weight problem" it is VERY true... thats the reason we are all here!! It is hard and gets harder as you move forward. I know personally that I havent lost any weight in quite sometime.. but havent gained either. Its a lot of hard work and dedication for everyone. I hope to be successful and be able to use my tool as intended! I wish you well!
