Lap band questions

Hi Everyone.  I'm new to this board. I've read it a few times, but this is my first post.  I had lap band on 4/1 and I'm losing pretty steadily, but I feel like it is on my own steam.  I have had one fill so far and am having my second fill on Thursday.  Is there a magic point where I'm going to stop feeling hungry and start feeling full after I eat?  I'm starting to get nervous that I can't sustain this.  It's probably past time for me to get to the support group too!  Shame on me!

Jaynes,

There is a magic point and everyone is different when it comes to getting there.  Some don't even need a fill and then others need 2 or 3.  Be patient, stick to your program and you'll get there.  It's tough, I know, but the results are worth it.

Good Luck Nancy

Thanks Nancy.  I'm hoping this next fill will make a difference!  I'm sticking to it pretty well, but it's getting hard!    It would be nice if it were a little bit easier!

Hi Jaynes!  Welcome to the board.  Right now you are on your own steam so congrats on your steady loss.  I had 3 fills before I felt restriction and then got my 4th about a year ago - been at my sweet spot since then.  One thing you will notice once you have restriction is that full will never be the same....

I think most cover it- though I would check with yours just o be sure.  Call the number on the back of your card, you can see if they cover it, and also if there will be a co-pay.

Hi, and thank you everyone for responses.  When I went for my first fill, I only had to pay the $15 co-pay.  My second fill is tomorrow, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will help.  It was very encouraging to hear that there is a "sweet spot".  What a great term.  That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.

My fills are as long as they are done in the Dr office...if they are done in the hospital under flouro they are not.......not sure if depends on your insurance company.  I would imagine if they are covering the surgery that they would cover the aftercare.

Hi Jaynes and welcome. I'm starting to ge nervous and I'm only one week out!  I notice the restriction slipping away.  I am following the diet to a T, but I can definately feel a difference after one week.  I'm not hungry yet, but I am defintately not full and could definately eat more than I am.   I have a very long journey ahead of me.  Hope I can hold it together. Jen

Hi Jen.  That's exactly how I feel!  I have my second fill that afternoon, and I hope it helps!  I've been sticking with it and losing, but I'm hoping that I get to a point where it gets easier and I feel full before my willpower dwindles.
