I had great care at RIH for both my initial surgery and my band slip. I spent time on co-op 3 and step down (I think that's what it was called) because of sleep apnea. If you have sleep apnea, you'll be sent to step down unit for a more close observation, they have beautiful private rooms. If not, you'll be located in the co-op building.

I was thinking about you on Wednesday afternoon.  Yes RW is a great hospital.  I used to work there many years ago and also had a couple of hand surgeries there too.  Patient care is very important and RW is great.  I had my RNY at RI Hospital and there is a lot to be said  (not good) about care on their floor unit.  Step  down unit was great but regular floor unit was horrible.  Glad you had such great care and didnt vomit.  Take it very easy with everything and you will be just fine.   carol b

Congrats Jules!!  Welcome home, take it slow, and stay away from things that swell your eyes shut- lol.  So glad to hear things went well for the most part!

Hi Jules,

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well.  Although, I've not posted much till now... I've been reading alot about you!  You sound like such an upbeat person, I hope we get the chance to meet sometime soon.  Probably at a support group meeting.

Take care,
Vicky

You guys are so Super Uber nice!  Thank You Thank you for your well wishes and all your prayers! I had Oscar briefly. I mainly had Christine and 'everyone's favorite' GINA ( I call her the Nazi Nurse).  Military If it weren't for her, I KNOW my immediate recovery would not have been so good. In fact, she may be able to join us as a RW support group meeting to lend her support. Especially to pre-ops who have lots of questions. My room mate, although very nice, was claustrophobic and had to have her light on ALL NIGHT LONG! I was so exhausted that I would sleep intermittently during the day. Sleeping  I am so grateful to be home. Yesterday I had some 98% fat free / low sodium Chicken Broth for 'dinner' and it really felt great going down. I feel I can drink more than what most people talk about. I have no problem takikng my meds or Vicodin at all. I expected this to be a hassle. No problems there. It most certainly feels different but not  painful. I have a very high tolerance for pain because of all the pain I'm in 24/7 so what's not too painful for me can mean agony for another. Anyway, so far, so good. Thanks again everyone! You're ALL an inspiration to me!  Sign I Love You Jules

Welcome home Julie!!!! I'm so happy to hear that your surgery went well and no vomiting (I will be reporting to my sister about that...). Sorry I didn't get a chance to come visit, but I figured you didn't need two crazy kids there when you were trying to recover from surgery! I can't wait to see you at the next meeting, if you're feeling up to it!! Hugs and kisses!!!
