Honey, I'm home......

Hello Everyone! I got home from the hospital yesterday and I'm doing well. Laura and Joe are babysitting for me while Hubby and the rest of my clan are either at work or out enjoying the hot weather. I had absolutely NO VOMITING upon awakening from anesthesia! Turns out....the reason I vomited so violently in the past was because I'm allergic to Morphine! So, no Morphine in the mixture.....no vomiting! I was so relieved! I did, however, discover that I'm allergic to the pain medication Dilaudid! Yup, I turn lobster red, itchy and coocoo scared because my eyes swell shut!  The staff at RW is awesome! They were very patient and kind with me the whole time I was there! My back was killing me and they helped me with that too! I wouldn't change a thing! I would go back to RW again in a heart-beat! And what a wonderful surprise to see all my visitors there! Each time I opened my eyes I had another wonderful friend from this awesome RI Board! Those of you who haven't had your surgery yet, I HIGHLY recommend getting a WLS Angel. I don't know where I would be without Laura! I'm planning a big pool party at my house in late July! I'll let you know when as soon as I have a date! I want you all to come with your families, friends and children, k? Time to rest. I'll post more when I'm able! I love you ALL! Jules

Jules,  So glad to hear that you had no vomiting.  I know you were nervous about that.  Sorry to hear about the Dilaudid.  I also had surgery at RW and found the staff to be awesome.  Any chance you had Oscar as a nurse?  He was one of mine and I found him to be really helpful.  Welcome to the other side.  Before you know it,  the surgery will be just a fond memory.  Looking forward to seeing you at the next meeting.  Anything I can help with let me know.  Feel well.  Amy T

All were helpful and seemed to enjoy working.. not like you were putting them out if you asked for something! Cant wait to hear about all your progress in the time to come! Hope to see you soon. btw Amy.. I had Oscar while at the hosp. he was very nice, along with the others. OK.. time to go... Hi Jules, Sooooo happy things went well for you. I hope RIH is okay to go to, as well, since that is where Dr. Ryder works I have three weeks and three days left till mine and I am praying to God that it goes like yours did. I have NEVER had any kind of operation so I have no point of reference as to my reaction to anesthesia. Feel better each day! Love Marie
