Getting Nervous
My surgery is tomorrow and I am officially staring to FREAK OUT!!!!!!! and to top it off I have the period I have been waiting two weeks for (sorry guys) and the worst cramps ever. I have been waiting for this day forever and I just didn't think I would be this scared or feel so not ready.
I'm not sure why, but I'm really freaked out about staying overnight in the hospital????
Hang in there! I know that these last hours can seem like the scariest time of all. You're absolutely sure, until now, that you know what you are doing and then "OH MY GOODNESS, WHAT AM I DOING??" comes into your head. I can tell you that for me I was scared up until I got to the hospital the morning of surgery, then my biggest fear became what if the surgery gets cancelled at the last minute! lol. As for the hospital stay... I know it's hard to be away from home, but at least you know that you will get the very best care from people who have seen "it" all before. Hopefully, after you remind yourself why you decided this surgery was right for you, you will find a measure of peace. Know that people are wishing you the very Best with your surgery!!
Hi Jenny! I know EXACTLY how you feel! My surgery is Wednesday and I am in a state of "Wow, I can't believe I'm actually doing something this drastic!" Also, tonight is my very last full meal (salad with tuna or chili on top). Full liquid diet tomorrow. What time do you go in tomorrow? Is there anyone who can let us know how you're doing? We really worry around here! Maybe someone here who you can have your family call? I know we haven't met you but we truly do care about you! I wish you an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery period! God Bless You!!! Jules P.S. See you on the losers' bench!

Jenn- I think we all freak out just before. We waited all this time and were so anxious for the day to be here- and now it is!! And we freak! I didn't sleep for the night before- too nervous. Whatever you do- DO NOT start reading every board and looking for all those worst case senarios. That is just filling your head with the worst! Get stuff done that you won't be able to do for a week. Clean the house, do laundry, get magazines and things handy for you when you come home.
I actually found an old paint by numbers kit in my son's room while cleaning and did that. Occupied my mind and time (luckily is was a more advanced one where you have to mix colors and such).
You will do wonderfully!! And you have an incredible surgeon! I am sending my number in a PM- if someone could give me a quick call after you are out of surgery to update me and I will pass on the news!
Best of luck for a pain free and speedy recovery!
Thanks to all again. Your words of encouragement mean so much to me. The day has been a completely whirlwind and I am not even done yet. I worked for three hours, I finished the swimming pool (can't wait to lounge and recoup), cleaned the house, cooked a couple of meals, had the biggest ice coffee I could get my hands on and now diet pepise and I are saying goodbye!!!!!!
I have to be at the hospital for 8:00. I will be in touch tomorrow with an update!!
Jules I will be thinking of you!
I will be back and posting on Wednesday!!!!!!
OMG, I am having surgery tomorow also. I also have to be at the hospital by 8:00 a.m. I am starting go get nervous too. I was fine all day, but now I will be in surgery 12 hrs from now. Excited to get on with my new and improved life. Best wishes keep me posted. See ya. PS....I have my period too. I was 2 weeks late when I started..Oh well, I guess its nerves.
Hi Jenny, I was banded in November and I, too, freaked out the night before. I had to stay the night and didn't want to, but it really was okay. I was up early the next morning, had a bit of a shake for breakfast and read until Dr Giovanni came to spring me. Best of luck! I'll keep you in my prayers....
Jules
