It's coming together!!!
How is everyone doing!?!?! My appts today and Friday went FANTASTIC!!! I knew it would be beneficial working with the same hospital for Optifast/WLS!! After speaking with Dr Pera(liquid) today and mentioning that I met with the surgeon(Dr. Sax) on Friday, Dr Pera totally agreed that RNY is my best option for long term success. He also agreed that getting me started ASAP is in my best interest...esp since I saw a surgeon at the same hospital and all my records are at the same hospital.
He mentioned that the psy eval usually take a little while to schedule....there is a list for bariatric patients and one for just liquid non surgical patients...but because I am going for liquid to get the surgery, he can pull some strings to get me in as soon ASAP AND the evaluation would count for the liquid program and count for my requirement for surgery. He said once I have the eval done that I could start liquid right after that.......he made a few calls while I was there this AM and was able to get me a psyc eval on June 11th!!
Hopefully I can start a few days after that on liquid! He also mentioned that there is a good chance that I may be off the pills for my sugar in a month into the program also...which is a BONUS!!!! Today was the second part to the great day I had Friday with the surgeon!!!
After all the research and two orientations...it's coming together...can you tell I am a bit excited on this end??? ha
