I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!Okay once again I need to call upon Ya'll for some support and help. I am in the midst of still fighting with my insurance CO it has been about a year now over having my plastic surgery approved because it is reeking havoc on my degenerative disc disease and also mental as you can imagine. Any who I am submitting for the last time my appeal along with pics of my grossness and will then need to what to see if they approve it. This is stressing as well as I am having such anxiety about the surgery. If I do what the doc suggested it would first be a full truckle lift, then a breast reconstruction and last leg lift. I am SO scared! I am going out of mind about the surgery as well as I have been told the pain is really bad the first few weeks. The surgeries would all be separate so there would be three separate and the trunckle is the most invasive. Well any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening again I appreciate it. On a lighter note I have mad to a total lost now of lbs in 3and half years!!!!! That is soo crazy I still do not know where it went!!!!!  Thanks DD

Hey DD, I would think that Plastic Surgery would have to be thought of as part of your weight lose surgery journey. I would definitely go for it if I was not happy with what I saw.  Besides having the WLS for health reasons, deep down you want to good too.  Think of how wonderful you will feel and look once you pass those first few weeks of discomfort. Just my opinion Nancy

My mom had RNY about three years ago and had her arms done and a breast reconstruction last year.  I am not goint to tell you that it was a breeze, becuase it wasn't.  But she is very very happy wtih the outcome and would chose to do it again.   I would just advise you to get all the info you can about the surgery so you have no surprises.  She had an excellent surgeon, but I don't think that she was listening - just paying attention to what the outcome would be.  She was very suprised to find that her nipples were relocated as part of the surgery.  There was no choice (she went from an F cup down to nothing).  But she was not prepared for what it woudl be like after. But again - it was a bumpy road but she is very happy with the results and looks wonderful.   Good luck with the insurance approval!!!! Jen

I know the thought of the surgery can be really scary, but focus on the outcome and how much better you will feel both inside and out afterwards.  The pain can be dealt with medication.  Best of luck with the approval!

Adding my positive thoughts to those coming your way!     I can only imagine that the anxiety from both the process of approval and then the surgery itself must seem almost insurmountable some days... but just remember sometimes there really is a reason for the wait, we just don't see it yet! Plus, you know that you want to be healthy and more comfortable both in body and spirit. Also, don't forget we are all rooting for you!!

I can understand your need for this surgery.  I am really surprised that you are having such a hard time with insurance considering the problems it is causing with your back.  The mental piece I think we can all really understand.  I have about 15lbs left, but I can already see the areas I am not happy with.  Has Dr. Pohl's office been able to help at all?

Thank You all for your kind words and advice. It means so much!! You all are the best. As far as Dr.ohls office I had my RNY with Dr.Harrington and they have done as much as they can it is just the insurance that keeps saying we didnt get this or this was not enough info ext. Dr. Harrington actaully wasgoing to do a panectmy?? I am not sure of the spelling or the wording but it bascaill would just remove the apron or extra skin around my waist but it would not do the sides or back. He suggeted I see Dr. Edstrom the plastic surgeon as I carry my weight all around.I have actually gotten medical proof from my PCP, from Dr. Haigton, my orthopedic dr and even the plastic surgeon. The insurance CO doesnt care. We will just keep positive and pray. This is all wecan do. Thanks guys you rock!!!!! DD
