Day 3 on Pre-Op Diet..

And I am HATING IT!!! I'm so darned hungry!  Woman In Rollers I have been drinking over 130 ounces of water/crystal light a day and I'm still hungry. I'm so used to consuming around 6,000 Calories a day! Now it's 650 - 1100 a day! Night time is my worst time. My WLS Angel says it may be 'head' hunger. She's probably right. But I don't even feel satiated after my 'sensible' meal! Aaaargh! On top of all that, I have a wedding Flowers And Hearts  to go to tomorrow that will have a buffet! I know, eat sensibly, make good choices. It's not like I can just get up and dance or anything.  Girl 3 Maybe I should pick up some Dexatrim or something??? I know there are two other people having their surgeries around the same time as me. How are YOU doing? And since I don't have Dr. Ryder or Dr. Roye can I go to the RIH pre-op thing they have there? Thanks ahead of time everyone!  The End Jules

Jules,  Before you know it this will be a distant memmory.  Do the best that you can with the pre-op diet.  It does help with the head hunger-op post, and begins you retraining with food.  Good luck with your surgery.

Jules,  Stay strong.  I found it pretty hard as well.  I had my dinner and 3rd shake at the same time.  It seemed to help me at nighttime.  Don't know if you are doing this or not.  Before you know it, your surgery date will be here.  Good luck.  We are all here to help in anyway we can.  Amy

It does suck, but I promise it WILL get easier.  Try reading a book (tv is no good as it has too many damn food commercials!!) or doing a craft.  Switch out your winter clothes for summer ones.  Do something to keep your mind busy- crosswords, sudoko.   You would be surprised at how much of what we feel is our head telling us to eat.  Next time around I am going to have them remove my brain and leave my stomach intact (lol).  The drinking helps a lot, though 130 oz is a HECK of a lot. I wish you the best and I will PM you my cell- if you ever need to chat to keep busy- feel free to call

Julie, You can do this!!!!  Don't take any medications that you have not already discussed with Dr Pohl and or your pre-surgery eval.  This is an important step - it is also the most difficult....  Deep Breaths!!!
