Hi Melissa, What is gastric bypass revision?  Did you have an RNY before and having it redone? Carol B

Hi Carol, Yes, I did have the RNY 5 years ago and have gained back approx. 50#'s.  I did not hit my goal, due to stress and not eating properly.  I am having it redone, the opening to my stomach is enlarged and I have something else going inside , I dont remember what the doctor called it.  I am excited about it.   Melissa

GM Melissa, It's been 2 yrs since by by pass and I just noticed this past month that I can eat much more.  I didnt have that problem since the surgery, as I even had problems with some proteins i.e.chicken, and beef and times...mostly chicken.  Now its been 2 yrs and all of a sudden I can eat more and the chicken problem has almost vanished.  I noticed I am hungry more often and carbs go down really really good..not a good thing.   Is your health insurance going to cover this second surgery?  I never got to my goal, but close to it, (10 lbs) but now like I said all of a sudden I can eat more and have put on 5 lbs. I am trying to get this off as I dont want  to get my weight out of control.   Thanks for answering  my question...Carol B

"Now its been 2 yrs and all of a sudden I can eat more and the chicken problem has almost vanished.  I noticed I am hungry more often and carbs go down really really good..not a good thing. " This was the BIGGEST complaint I heard about the RNY surgery and why (well 1 of the few reasons) I chose against it. I know of several people (in real life) that have gained back some or all of their weight over time.  Talk to your doctor before it gets too out of control. None of us enter into this stage to regain all the weight we've lost.  Good luck!

Hi, I am approcahing almost 4 years and I am still loosing. It is normal for you to be able to eat more the further out that you are. When I first had mine a women told me she would never allow herself to go over the 5lbs. I have followed that to a T and it really works. As you see that you are getting back to old habbits or gaining you need to revert back to some pre-op things. As you are aware of it now that is the first step. Let me know if you need anything!! DD
