I need help getting back into the right mindset!!
I am planting a big garden this year to. I am planting a lot of different herbs, tomatoes (all different types), all varieties of peppers, and lots of other veggies. My plan is to make my own sauces and salsas. I have been cooking a lot using salsa- esp on fish. Gives a great taste without adding a ton of calories, fat, salt, etc. I have always grown fresh mint (sooo great to cook with) and am really excited about the rest of the herbs I am growing this year.
Have you read Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies? Library has that one too, another fairly quick read (skip the parts you have already done or about surgeries not pertaining to you). Some great sounding recipes too!
good luck!!!
BTW...noone ever thinks of it but gardening is very good exercise as it works your mid section!!!!
Enjoy the garden. I love working in the yard...even love mowing the lawn but I'm not good with planting. I've killed cactuses before...never thought that was possible! I plant perrenials in my yard so that I only have to weed.
Good luck with the garden...sounds great!

I am so sorry you are going through this. Take a deep breath and focus on the good things. You are not a failure! You did not make a mistake by choosing this surgery. You never mentioned exercise...how have you been moving? I know the port has been an issue for you for some time now but how about walking? Hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow that will help settle some of your feelings. Try to think positive. I know how tough it can be... TRUST ME, I know but all in all....the end result will be worth it.

that is my big no no. I am not walking as much as I should be. Life kicked into high gear and my health has been kicking me in the butt. I am parking the car in the furthest spot when I drive somewhere so I can get some walking in, playing with the boys and at least 30 trips up and down stairs all day is about what I manage. Some days I get more in, but I have been bad about it. We have had to keep putting off getting the treadmill, but with our stimulus check in a week or so, it is top priority.
Thanks!!
I know how busy life can get....
I have kids who are VERY active in sports so I'm always on the go. The other day at my daughter's practice...I walked around the field. I also park further to walk the extra steps. I now take the stairs instead of the elevator. For the first time since being banded...I actually took the stairs up (always take them down) at Dr. Ryder's office last Monday. Not sure if Dr. Roye is also on the 4th floor but Dr. Ryder is. I was tired but never would I have made it up before. I park in the garage (lower level) and never use the elevator there either. Last week I even took the long way by walking out the door you drive in and came back the same way. I was early, had I been running late I would of went out the regular door. Every little bit helps.
Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted!

aww Beth *huggsss* I'm so sorry you're feeling down about everything, but I promise it will go away. Look at how far you've come...I remember the first time I met you and you were so casual about the surgery, just taking your time and here you are banded! You are such an amazing lady, give it time and things will work out you'll see.
Dont forget we're all here for you. And you call me ANY time you want someone to talk to. We'll get the kids all together and take them to the park or something and just chat.
