Most of you on here have no clue who I am but a few months back I was on this site all the time! Unfortunately things get hectic and time gets lost but im writing today because I need some words of wisdom, I need help!!

I had Lapband surgery a year ago April 18th, I went from 289 pounds to 201 pounds, had my share of fills,  had a slip and had some ups and downs. Well today I weigh 220 pounds and I am finding myself wanting to eat eat eat. Im so sick of the struggle to lose weight. I opted for this surgery so that it would make things alittle easier for me and its just as hard, im thinking of doing the gastric now... Danielle....you out there?????

HEEELPPPPP!!!!  LOL

Are you still at a good restriction?  I am going for my first fill next week and right now I want to eat and eat.  I am also noticing I am battling the head hunger a lot.  I know you have way more experience in this than I do, but have you tried journaling your food.  You have lost so much weight already!!  Do you really want to go through another surgery and recovery? (as nice as it is to see Dr Roye).  I know it sucks and seems like we are going to spend our whole damn life on a diet counting and measuring everything we put in our mouths. I would try and schedule with a nutritionist to get you back on track  I know you know what you are supposed to eat, etc- but I am keeping seeing her just to make myself accountable for what I shove in my face.

OMG...THE FILLS THE FILLS!!! LOL    I get a fill, have restriction for a little while, things get stuck then no restriction...its and up and down battle constantly. Just called annette at Dr. Royes office (just love talking to her) to get a referral for a nutrionist but their line was busy busy busy!  Thanks for your advice alexia...I need someone to slap me!!!!!!!!!! lol

Ugh!  she was in quite a mood the other day when I needed to get my first fill scheduled under fluoro.  She finally just gave me that look and told me she would call me later- as in- get the hell outta my face- lol. I really recommend Robin Vales- she is the NUT at RIH call 444-7152 to schedule an apt with her- she is great!  (and so far my Blue Cross has paid for her too) I know all I am telling you is what you already know- but I hate to see you have to go through all the surgery again!  Just think of all that you have lost!!!  Every pound is 1200 calories less that you put in your  mouth, multiply all those pounds times that and look how many hundreds of thousands of calories you already cut out!!!  You have done an amazing job, and just need to get back on track (and we all need a slap in the head)

Congrats on your progress. You've done an amazing job.  I'm sorry for all the frustration.  I really don't have much advice but I agree on what Alexia has said. I do think it's way too soon to be looking at another surgery option. Every surgery comes with it's ups and downs. When all else fails....it's time to seek a different route but I don't think you are at that point just yet. I think you are speaking out of frustration.  I too just had a slip fixed 4/22. I have yet to have any fills. I do know what works for one will not work for another. Hang in there...I do think seeing a nutritionsist is some thing you can't go wrong with. I too had Robin Vales and she is excellent.  Good luck, keep us posted on your progress!

Oh Julie!  So sorry to hear about your slip - were they able to figure out what caused it?  Okay - so you gained 19lbs.  You know the drill.  Get back on that horse.  When will they start doing fills again?  Any interest in starting our walking back up?  No one can decide which surgery is right for you.  But even with Gastric you are going to have to watch what you eat, portion control and move.  You can do this Julie!!!!
