Ok, so things are finally beginning to calm down and get some resemblance of normal and I know its Tuesday, but lets get back on track with our mini-goals.  Since I see a lot of new faces on the board, I'll go over quickly what this is all about. We all know that goals seem to help keep people on track, and sometimes we get frustrated because they seem to take forever to attain so we're doing mini-goals! Goals run for about 6-8 weeks at a time and can be anything you choose, they can be weight related, exercise oriented, or whatever you're trying to attain at the time.   Right now, we're on the tail end of out Mothers Day mini-goal (of which I've been very bad at posting on the past few weeks.) Normally, I will post every Monday and we'll fill each other in on our progress. So, theres 1 week left in this mini-goal, but feel free to hop in at any time. Make yourself a new goal or for those "veterans" where are you on your progress! My mini-goal this time around was to be able to run 5 minutes continuously on the treadmill at a speed of 5. I have to admit, with a sudden maddening change in my life, I'm sadly behind in my goal and I havent even been able to touch the treadmill in 2 weeks! Things are settling now though, and I'm going to try to get myself back on track.  So where are you at?

Hi Angela! Great to see you on here and getting back on track! You HAVE to keep yourself first! Got that? If we're not good to ourselves, how can we be any good for others? You're doing great! I'm very proud of you! KIM.....congratulations! WOW! You're doing it.....you're really, really, doing it! Good for you!!! My mini goal is very mini. To not drink while eating. So far, so good. I want to get to the point of not drinking for 30 minutes prior or 30 minutes after eating so as to train myself for after the surgery. This, I feel, will be very difficult for me....so....practice makes perfect. No time but the present. Happy Tuesday Everyone! Jules

Hi,   I would quit the diet Coke.  I did before I had my RNY.  You are not supposed to drink carbonated drinks after your surgery.  I believe it because the bubbles will stretch your pouch faster.  It does stretch a bit approximately a year after your surgery.  I quit drinking diet sodas about a month before and have never touched them since.  I bought my protein just before my surgery and didnt drink them until I came home from the hospital.  Hope this helps.   Carol B

My mini goal was my first post surgery.  I was off to a good start, but now not doing so hot.  I started in a size 22 pants and was hoping to be into an 18 by Mother's Day.  It is very clear to me now- this is NOT happening.  I am down in weight were I should be at least into one size smaller (and can squeeze into a 20), but for some reason- it is not happening.  I am not sure if part of it has to do with my stomach still being swollen a bit, me being so used to the baggy pants, that I don't feel comfortable yet in the smaller size. On a positve note- I get my first fill next week  (though it is a 2pm and I can have nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day before--- needless to say- I will be a royal b!&@# that day)
