THEY CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT!!!!!

I was listening to my machine tonight and there was a message from Dr. Roye's office saying that they had left me a message earlier in the week cancelling my appointment and that they had not heard from me to reschedule!!!! They did not leave a message!!!!! I look at my caller ID every day and check messages and there was no message!!!!  I saw the number tonight and thought they were calling to confirm.  I have been waiting almost a month for this appointment.  Now what???????   I am so upset becuase I know that I was not called, and now I'll have to wait even longer. I'm just devistated.  I know i sound like somewhat of a whiner, but it's just not fair.  All wee****pt telling myself that they were going to cancel.  I just had a feeling, but I actually got my hopes up when I hadn't heard anything.

because they had to cancel on you, they will do everything to squeeze you in as soon as they can.  They called me 2 weeks ago to cancel - they moved me just 2 days from when I was originally scheduled.  Hopefully they will be very accomodating

Thanks for the encouragement guys - I really appreciate it. When I heard the message last night I just felt deflated.  Life has been kind of giving me the finger lately so just one more setback was a little too much to deal with!! There is nothing I can do about it but wait and reschedule.  No sense stressing over something that I cannot change.  Just a little frustrated becuase it is so hard for me to get time off from work now and I had this all set and ready to go. That stinks...I'm sorry. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about it.  Reschedule and hope for the best. Good luck!

Jenny You'll get there sooner than you think.  I know it feels like forever, but everything will move pretty fast once your surgery date is scheduled.  There had to have been a good explaination for them  to reschedule you.  Maybe somethng personal came up.  After you have your surgery,  if you were to call with a post op emergency, they will see you right away.  In order to do that, they have to squeeze you in or cancel someone else. Thanks Again to all  I was couting down the days like a kid waiting for my birthday and then to find out about the cancel.  I guess it just hit me hard. Oh well - nothing I can do and I know that it was for a good reason.  I'll call tomorrow to reschedule.   I am on vacation from one of my jobs at the end of the May (I work from home too), so I was hoping to have surgery in the last week of May, which could still happen.   Thanks for the support and encouargement.  It is so nice to know that there are people who are going through the same thing as me and who understand, because sometimes I look around me and feel sort of isolated in this journey.  My husband is very supportive and behind me 100% but sometimes I feel like he just doesn't "get it". Thanks !!!!!

Okay, seeing your post is making ME worry now.  I had no messages on my answering machine on Friday but when I looked at the caller ID I saw that U.S.A had called me.  I kept asking my husband "why do you think they called & why didn't they leave a message???"  I have my surgery scheduled for Thursday & I really hope they don't reschedule it!!!

Well they could not reschedule me until May 16th.  I guess it could be worse.  I'm not 100% confident that that date will happen either.  The secretary said that Dr. Roye has not been in much lately. This will give me time to meet wtih another nutritionist.   Can anyone give me some recommendations for a nutritionist?  I live in Tiverton but don't have a problem traveling.  I did not have a very positive experience wtih the first nutritionist I saw. Thanks all!

I LOVED Robin Jospeh/Vales.  She is at RIH and was first on my list of all the names on Dr Roye's list of who to contact for pre-op testing, etc.  I have another apt to see her tomorrow, just for follow up and I am hoping my medical coverage continues to pay for visits to her.
