Hi!! I have finished all of my testing, and I am meeting with Dr. Roye on 5/12.  Does anyone know how long I will have to wait for the or date?  Also, is there a diet or something that I need to do?   Waiting.........

Hello, I have my follow up with Dr. Roye on Monday 5/5.  the secretary told me that he can ussually book you within 30 days of the follow up.  I can let you know on Monday how long I have to wait. Also, I have no idea if there is a pre-surgery diet to follow. I'll keep you posted. Jen

I saw him on the 26th & my surgery is on May 8th.  If all your tests come back okay, he will probably schedule your date then.  Good luck!!

Oh, and there wasn't any diet I had to do.  He just said not to gain any weight between now & then & try to loose some if I could.

Have you received any post op diet information as of yet?  I did not get anything from my nuturition eval and was wondering if you recevied anything from Dr. Roye's office when you booked your surgery?

He makes you go to a class a little bit before your surgery.  They give you alot of information there & he requires that you take the class or he won't do the surgery.  I went a while back because I was originally scheduled for RNY but then changed my mind back to the lap band.  The class lasts about 2 hours if I remember correctly.

I am about 5 1/2 weeks out from my lapband with Dr Roye and did not have to take any class.  As far as I know- that class is for RNY patients only.  My nutritionist gave me my post op diet, and her associate also came to visit me in the hospital and go over the diet once again to make sure I fully understood it and had no questions.   Dr Roye doesn't require a pre-op diet, but don't gain weight or go crazy thinking that every meal before surgery is your very last meal.   Usually on your second apt at the office, as long as all the tests came back good and you feel you are ready to go, they will book your apt.  I was at the office today and they were crazy busy.  I needed to schedule my first fill under fluoroscope, but I have to wait for them to call me back to schedule- as they were that insane.

Alexia, I was wondering what Dr. Roye said about the port pain you've been having?
