Helllooooooo Everyone.  I am home from lap band surgery and WOW!!! What a Revelation. First, I realized the day after surgery that it did not feel like I had a band in, that I could have gone to Olive Garden and would only know after getting deathly ill. Secondly, its now Tuesday and I have been on clear liquids-sugar free drinks, juice mixed with water, jello and broth,,,But NOw i dont feel like having anything except apple juice and broth.  I dont even have the taste for the lemon calcium chews i found at my local rite aid.  Is this normal???  What do i do?

Your not wanting to take (or tolerate) your vitamins came sooner than mine.  I tolerated about 2-3 weeks of them.  I have to force myself to take them daily.  I am having a lot of trouble eating anything that is sweet (even with artifical sweetners).  I just take my vitamins at different times during the day (I have 5 pills I need to chew- it gets overwhelming) and have someone push me or remind me to take em- otherwise it is too easy not to- and they are super important!- esp right now I am glad you are doing well!  Take it easy and take care of yourself!

Congrats again! I don't enjoy my vitamins either but I enjoy my crusted HBP meds even less. Crushed meds are horrible and they don't come flavored like vitamins do! I take 3 vitamins daily and was told to space them out, never take them all at once. 1 is a multi that I take with breakfast, the other 2 are calcium whcih I take 1 with lunch and the other with dinner.

In a day or 2 you'll be so tired of the apple juice and broth. You'll be more then ready to move on to full liquids! You'll go through that with every stage. Hang in there...it gets better!

Congrats on being banded!

I had the gastric bypass so things were a bit different for me.   I didn't want anything and I had to force myself to eat, drink and take my vitamins.   It does get better.

Congrats and good luck Shems.......Everything you are going through sounds normal to me.. Get those vitamins down, they are important at this stage because you are eating so little.  Nancy
