New Post-OP

Had gastric by-pass 4/16, got home from the hospital on 4/21 - feeling better and stronger each day with every good night's sleep.  Getting bored staying at home.  Only so much cleaning and TV to watch.  Been walking too but can't do that all day.  Have a sit-down job - how soon before returning to work??  I don't think there is any restriction but wanted to see was the consenus was.

Congrats on your surgery. Continue to feel better and take things slow! You are still healing, you should not be doing housework.  Take care!

your surgeon will give you the go-ahead on returning to work. I am glad to see you are doing so well- and welcome to the board!

Congrats on your surgery and like the others said talk to your Dr.  Also, take it easy because you are still healing.

Hello Eden, Congrats on your recent surgery!  I also have a sit-down, desk job.  I probably sit for 95% of the day.  I had my surgery on 3/24/08 and I stayed out of work for 3 weeks.  I probably could have gone back after 2 weeks, but I was able to take a 3rd week.  It was nice to be able to rest and relax.  I would say that you definitely need 1-2 weeks off.   

Thanks- I'm just very bored and needing to get my focus on something else.  I am returning to work today (1/2 day) to try it out.  Although I could take as much time as I need, I feel fine and need some other stimulation.  I won't pu**** and will leave if I get tired but I want to give it a try.
