New guy..

Hello all....I am new to the board and in the early stages of choosing a surgery. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello!  So many questions to ask those of you who have been there and had that done...ha  I thought I knew which surgery I wanted after attending the orientation at Roger Williams but after seeing other profiles, not sure now...luckily I have some work to do(lose lbs) before I can even have the surgery...considering Optifast to drop it quicker.  I am looking forward to a healthier me...and who knows maybe find that Ms. out there...joking...I consider myself very open and love to chat. Hi Rob! Welcome to our community! You'll find lots of help here! If we can't answer your questions, we'll refer you to someone or a website or your doc for the answers. I'm still pre-op and awaiting insurance approval and I don't know where I would be if it weren't for this forum. Again, WELCOME! Jules

Hi Rob!  Welcome to the board.  As Jules said, this is a great place to get support and questions answered.  I am also pre-op and hoping to be approved soon.  Hope to see you at the RW support group meeting next month.

You mentioned that you werent sure what surgery you are going to have... what are you leaning towards?

I see that your surgeon is Dr. Giovanni, I had her as well! She was awesome! If you have any questions, please let me know!

Again, welcome! Hope to meet you soon! We have a lot of get togethers and most of us go to the support group meetings, so I hope to see you there!

No...  I never worked for a movie theater.

Rob - I think you just have one of those smiley faces that looks so familiar because I thought the same thing.   Welcome to the board!  There is so much great info here and some really wonderful people.  I wasn't even thinking about WLS surgery a year ago and now here I am almost ready to go.  My mom had RNY about three years ago wtih great success and minimal complications.  It changed her life for the better in so many ways.  I have chosen the band becuase it just feels right for me.  The biggest think is that you are on your way!
