Any one have plastic surgery yet?  I need a tummy tuck and a hernia repair.  The repair will be covered under insurance but the plastic surgery will need to be paid "out of pocket".  I have seen two plastic surgeons but seems like their prices ar high.  Any advice? Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, Did the doctors tell you you would have to pay "out of pocket" for the tummy tuck?  My understanding was that if you had a hernia you could get the tummy tuck done at the same time as the repair and it would all be covered. I hope to soon be looking for some plastics myself and unfortunately I don't have a hernia so I will definitely be paying out of pocket and it will be much more than a tummy tuck.  I need arms, tummy, boobs, butt and legs........... OUCH!!! Good luck with your search and if you find someone good and reasonable, please let me know.  In the mean time I guess I'll be looking at a second mortgage LOL.

I heard about a program on RI Hospital where the surgery is done by an intern supervised by the Director of Plastics or something like that.  Sorry I don't have more details...

It's run by Brown Univ. Med. School staff who are also in private practice.  Sounds like a good deal to me.  Should also be cheaper.  Here is a link:

Well, my father in law said he would be very upset if my boobs went away, so he told my MIL that they would pay for a boob job.  (yes- my family is strange!!  and hilarious!!)  So that there is covered, I guess I am thinking Mexico for the rest.  (though I am forever away from it)
