Almost done with pre-surgery testing!! YAY!!!

I went this morning for my last medical test- the ultrasound- it was really very interesting.  I have never had an ultrasound done before the the Sonographer was AWESOME!!! Very friendly and was willing to answer all my questions and spent the extra times showing me what she was seeing etc...  I think her name was Lucy but I'm not positive- it was at RWH.  Anyway... now all I have left is my psych eval on May 2nd!!!

I'm getting really excited!  It almost feels real ya know?  I haven't told anyone at work yet- I'm waiting till I have an actual date for surgery- but my family and friends know and everyone has been really supportive. 

I am so happy to have found this forum- I know a couple of people who have had the surgery but they aren't people that I can really talk to about it and having you all here either having gone through it or on your way there is a real blessing!

Yay for almost being done!

Congratulations on being almost done!  This is just about the time when it starts to feel real.  I didnt believe that I was actually doing this until I was at the hospital the morning of surgery.  I felt at peace and very satisfied with my decision.  Good luck! Laura

 I didnt believe that I was actually doing this until I was at the hospital the morning of surgery.  Laying in the hospital bed in the prep room...I remember thinking..."Is this really going to happen?" It never felt real until I woke up in pain!  I still have days that I'm surprise, amazed and shocked that I actually had WL!

You'll have your date before you know it.   It really didn't hit me about having the surgery until I actually got my date.

Thats great Melanie.  Congratulations.  I am about 1/2 way through my testing.  Sleep apnea is done, ultrasound, nutrisonist and stress test.  Just a couple more and then I will be all set.   2008 is going to  be a great year for you.
