I was wondering if you all continually lost weight when going through all the foods phases.  I lost weight like crazy (1 or2 lbs per day) during clear liquids but now that I am on full liquids I haven't lost even though I have kicked up the exercise.  I see Dr. Roye tomorrow so I will discuss this with him as well, but I wanted to know what your eperinces were.

I was banded on the 4th and I'm still losing pretty quick but I don't start mushies until tomrrow. I have only had 3 shakes a day and water. That's what the NUT. told me to stick with until 1 week post-op. Is that what you are doing also? Marg

You are so lucky!! I had to do one week clear liquids, then onto 1 week full liguids (creamy soups, protein shakes, scrambled eggs) 1 week muchies, 2 weeks semi-soft, then onto regular food.   I am currently in the full liquids phase, I can't wait to start mushies on Tuesday.

Make sure your liquirds aren't too high in calories. At first I thought I was doing great, but then I ready the calorie content in some of the creamy soups, aye chewawa! Be aware of what you are putting in. I've been continually losing weight since my pre-op, with one slight fall back (That was my own fault, i let my busy life fall back to old nasty habits) Keep your eye on the prize!

I agree with the calories. I think people get caught up on the whole it's not really food thing, just a drink form. Fat free or low fat foods are a mus****ch those high calorie juices...stick to Crystal Light stuff. There are a ton of flavors. Propel has sugars...it tastes great and looks like water but it has sugar! Get your Cream soups in fat free as well.  I will say I don't use a whole lot of fat free stuff, I mainly use low fat. My nutri. said that was fine. I do have certain things I buy that are sugar free.

I lost a ton of weight on the clear liquids, stopped losing during the full liquids too.  I spoke to Kathleen on Monday and she said this is normal.  She said to even expect a slight gain during transitions too.  I just switched to mushies yesterday but haven't weighed myself in a bit

I use sparkpeople to track all my calories, fat, sodium etc. I have been right around the 300 per day area, which I know is too low, but I am following the nutritionist diet to a T.   1/4 cup Egg Beater's for breakfast, lunch is 1/2 cup soup 1/4 high protein pudding or a protein shake and dinner is the same option, plus a snack of 1/4 cup jello.    But based on your responses it looks like this might be a normal slow down.

Surgery on Feb 15 1 week of clear liquids 1 week of full liquids 2 weeks of purees 2 weeks on softs  and now I've been on regular foods for 2 weeks and I've lost every week.  The first 11 lbs was from the 2 weeks of liquids. I lost 10 lbs during the 4 weeks on purees and softs. So far on regular foods, I'm down another 3. That is not added in my ticker as I will update that monthly.

Jamie,    I guess your body loses all the excess fluids quickly, just my opinion.  Dr. Roye will definitely explain everything that you are going through.  Just do not gain, it will be like getting sent to the principals office.  He always kept me on track.  The only doctor the could. Nancy
