10 was pre surgery, 15 since.  I am learning that even though progressing this slowly is really getting to me at times, there are multiple reasons to be very strict with what is going in my mouth.   Thanks!!

I had no pre-op diet so my 21 lb loss is all post -op. That's slow compared to alot of others but I don't let it get me down. The scale is moving in the right direction after all these years. Also, a slower loss will help the body adjust and hopefully will help with sagging skin in the future.  Even with eating alot less....I too see why everything we eat will effect that scale. I don't eat breads, pastas or rice. I don't plan on never eating it again, it will be more of a treat if I have a craving.   Exercise is a major key. You are still newly out so continue to take it slow. You're doing great!

Hey T,

I went out and purchased brown rice and whole wheat pasta (so when I do eat it, I am eating healthy).   I was doing 10mins a day on the tredmill, but Dr. Ryder told me to take it slow.  So I decided to walk and wait until my 6 weeks ck-up and then beging my exercise regimen again.

I already had whole wheat pasta and brown rice in the house prior. My nutritionist said if I'm going to eat it, it has to be overcooked to where it is soggy or it will swell up in my pouch. I'll pass on soggy pasta. It's not that important to me. Not to mention...If it does swell in my pouch...I'll end up vomiting.  I gave up my DD coffee too because I can't be drinking my cals so no cream. I like my coffee light and FF milk is just horrible in coffee, I tried it. It was best to just give it up and switch to tea seeing I don't mind that black with splenda.  Somethings just aren't worth it. I'd rather be loosing pounds! You'll have plenty of time to exercise once you are fully healed. Take your time...concentrate on the important things now!

Hey Alexia,

I know what you mean about what goes in your mouth.   I still have to make myself eat or be conscience of eating.  I am also learning to take one day at a time.

I don't ever worry or think what will I eat later or tomorrow. There is still so much to learn, I focus on now and my next meal only. It takes alot of stress off of me because when I was on my post op plan I worried about every meal.

Your Right about the "still so much to learn".  I am learning to deal with the today(hard for me) and take one step at a time.  I was told that I could eat eggs, but I am a bit hesitant because I heard a lot of people can't tolerate it.  I have already experience the dumping syndrome and I don't want to deal with that anytime too soon.

If you are worried about eggs, try eggbeaters. They have a softer texture or you can scramble the reg. eggs, add milk.  I've had more then my share of vomiting already...
