All testing done!!Yeah Sleep study last night

Hey All, I lurk here every day and have made a few posts. I finished all my pre-op testing for the Lap Band. I changed my mind in the middle of all this to bypass but I feel much more comfortable with my decision for the Lap Band. Now I have to sit anf wait for DR to call with my sleep study results. Fingers crossed i will be getting my bloodwork in the AM. I am sooo excited and nervous at the same time. I keep catching myself wanting to eat something and saying to myself this is the last time I'm going to eat this...VERY BAD!!!! I am going to have to crash diet before my appt w/DR Roye to be sure I did not gain any weight since my 1st appointment. I must say this support group is great and I am sooo glad you r all here with all your advise and comments. OOOHHH I am jumping out of my skin for the phone to ring with the ok(didn't really sleep all that well at the study, hope they got ehat they needed). Thanks again for all your advise and guidiance.

Congrats on finishing your tests Jaime. That is the hardest part, IMHO.  Make sure you let us know about your surgery date!

Cograts Jaime!  The waiting IS the hardest part!  And as I posted to you before, I went through the same battle with going back and forth on a different surgery.  I was so worried I would fail with the lapband, and the RNY loses weight so much quicker.  I really started to doubt myself. I am now a week out of surgery with Dr Roye and I am loving my lapband!  I am down 15 lbs since surgery(mostly water I am sure).  I am up and about and feeling good.  I am really very happy I went back to my original choice of the lapband Good luck!!!  (and hopefully- no sleep apnea!!)

Thanks again. I think my doubt is gone and i am very positive. Your success is also helping keep me positve. Quick question: When did you find out after your 1st study whether or not you had apnea? This wait is killing me. Thanks Again!!

I did my test at Miriam and had results same day- it was just a 10 second call to tell me I didn't have it and they would cancel the other apts.  I think I got it between 2-4 pm. 

Welcome to the board Jamie. I'm just over 6 weeks out from the Lapband and couldn't be happier with the results and progress. With that being said...I'm also aware problems and/or struggles could come at any time in the future.  All the surgeries come with their very own pros and cons.  Good luck!

It's good to know other people had doubts about what type of surgery they wanted!  I had my initial consult for the lap-band but changed my mind to gastric then changed back to lap band.  3 days before my scheduled gastric surgery, I changed my mind back to lap band.  Now I have to wait until next friday for an upper gi test.  Good luck with everything!

it is funny too because I was so anti every surgery except lap band, and nothing was going to change my mind....so I thought!!  lol Every surgery has positives and negatives, you need to know what is right for you.

Thanks! I am very positve towards the Lap band, but my only reason to change my mind was the % of weight that comes off between the 2 surguries. I wanted results right away!! My Husband is VERY supportive and the bypass did not sit well with him. He usually doen's object to much so with his doubts and mine I was sure the Lap Band was the rught choice. I am so happy to be settled now. No call with sleep study results! I hope like heck they give me th all clear today. I REALLY do not want to go back next week.Thanks again all and I will keep you all posted!!
