Ditto for me.  How are you feeling with your band?  I am planning on getting the band too.  Just wondered about your thoughts, and can you offer any advise yet?

Patience is the only advice I have! It's a very slow process but in the long run...I think slow is the best way to go.  It's a learning process and just when you think you've learned a lesson...you are reminded again. This whole chew, chew, chew, swallow then wait is not as easy as it sounds. I've always been a fast eater...limited time has always been a problem as it is for many.  I have to say the easiest thing for me is food choices. There are so many good healthy things I can have (still on softs). It's learning about the amounts. If you don't eat slow, you'll discover you are over stuffed before you even knew you were full. It's a very uncomfortable feeling. Both times my food was cut off for the rest of the day and I was lucky enough to be able to get in very small sips.  Other then mastering the rules...I have no regrets and would do it all over again.  Good luck with your journey.

Thanks for your advice and comments!  I really appreciate them.  I am like you, a fast eater..I know that slowing down will be one of the harder things for me.  Thanks for reminding me that I will have to work on that.  I could stand to be reminded of that anytime anyone wants to mention it to me. haha!!  I know it is a learning experience with every meal and every bite.  Good luck to you as well!

That is another thing I have really started to work on now, chewing- a lot.   I am not normally a fast eater, but I have really started to take my time, and have noticed I eat less that way too.  Nice to start to feel full rather than overstuff.  Hubby was trying to rush the little guys through dinner tonight- I was like- no way, I was underweight forever, and people would always get mad at me I took too long to eat- I am NOT raising kids with unhealthy eating habits.  I do not want them to struggle as I have as they get older. ok- off my soapbox...

You're welcome and thank you as well.

There are just so many things that vary from person to person. Not sure if you already lurk the main board but you'll learn alot of things there. I post there occasionally but lurk everyday to see how others are doing and feeling. I consider it a heads up, just incase!
