Hi Pam! Thanks for participating. I feel the same way about us (OH'ers) sometimes, we know so much about each other, but at the same time, not enough!

I have never played backgammon. Maybe at one of the next unofficial OH meetings you could teach us how to play!

So many interesting things! So hmm.....I guess I have to tell on myself.  I guess one of the most interesting things about me is that I am a medieval and renaissance history buff. Before moving to RI I was a member of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) which is a group that likes to do reenactment,  Kind of like a full time renaissance faire. And it never fails to surprise people when they find out that I make chainmaille (you know, the armour made from thousands of tiny interlocking metal rings?)  And Cara,  I commend you! I did sterling chainmaille jewelry for a while that I sold, and I tried the wrapping, but could never get anything to come of it that looked good.

OMG Angela!!  I so need a pattern for a chainmail shirt!!  I have had a huge bag of polished aluminum rings sitting in a box for about 5 years now with all intentions of making hubby a shirt from them.  I had all the info on an older computer that crashed and I just never restored it.  Every time hubby sees the box he jokes about how the shirt is coming along

No problem Alexia, do you know any of the basic weaves?

I think Chainmaille would be a LOT harder!  And take much longer too.  Wow!  I'm impressed!

Its very tedious, but depending on the weave, it can be very simple or complex. The chainmaille jewelry is my favorite though. I've done rings so tiny I had to use a magnifying glass when I was weaving them! Never could get the wrap to look like I wanted it to though.

Hey Everyone! Wow, such interesting stuff here! I would love to learn more about jewelry making! I have never learned to play batgammon (sp?). But I want to! I love stuff about medieval times too! Laura, I'm so glad you started this post!!! Uhhh...something interesting about me.... I used to be the lead singer in a Country Band called "Hard Luck Aces". I gave it up to spend more time with my kids because I was a single parent at the time working full-time too. WHEN I reach my weight goal, I am seriously thinking of becoming a singer again! I really miss it and my family and friends keep buggin' me to do it again. Happy Tuesday everyone! Please check out my profile. I update it almost daily.
