Okay..so here is my issue. The nutritionists didn't tell me anything I didn't know and the physical therapy????are you serious? she stareted out by telling us that she was there mainly for the open patients...then have a class for them and don't bill us since you told us...again...nothing that we didn't already know! what does this have to be a giant money maker?

Hi Sara,

I have to go to that class this Thursday.   Does the insurance pay for it?  I guess I will have to wait and see.  I do agree with you that if it's just for "open patients" then they should have a class just for them.   Unfortunately, I don't know if I will have to be one of those patients????

I love the fact that I had to pay a co-pay for the class & I also had to pay for the "physical therapy" portion that my insurance didn't cover.  The physical therapist pretty much said that unless you were "open", you wouldn't even see her.  Nice!

Well,

That's not very nice!!!!!!!  I guess I will call Dr. Ryder's office tomorrow to see if I am going to have laproscopic or open???

They typically do Laproscopic unless you have to have a gallbladder removed or complications arise, there are other factor too. They would have already informed you. Its a good idea to call and confirm on your procedure.

Robin,    I do believe that the class you are going too is the Pre-Op class and will be very informative for you. The class they are speaking of is the Post-Op, where they learn to transition from pureed and mush to solid, eating healthy foods for life long knowledge. Please go to your class, they will not do surgery if you don't. Best of Luck! ~Dawn

Crap! Yet another thing my insurance won't pay for! Does everyone have to 'take' this class? Even Dr. Pohl's patients? Glad you have it done and over with though!

Hi Julie,

I am not sure about Dr. Pohl's patients?   My Dr. works out of Rhode Island Hospital and it's required.

I'm one of Dr Giovanni's patients (who works in Dr Phols practice) and didn't have to take this class. Dave
