Hi Angela! You are doing so well with your weight loss you look great! I love that you enjoy changing recipies around to make them WLS friendly...please share them on the RI Board when you come up with some great ones! I have been experimenting with cooking myself lately, but Im not that creative, I usually use Eggface's recipies!

I too consider everyone I meet on OH my friends because honestly, out of everyone I know, everyone here understand me the most!

Hi,

My name is Robin and I am 45 years old.  I am presently caring for my two grandchildren (Amari (aka Choppa) and Anaiah (aka Ma'ma') along with my youngest daughter, Brittany (just turned 18 in January).   I work for the State of Rhode Island, DHS Dept, but currently I am on medical leave until June.   I am scheduled to have surgery 3/12/2008.  I chose to have surgery because of my health and wanting to see my children and grandchildren celebrate so many wonderful things that will take place in their lives.  I also want to be around so when they face disappointments I can be there to pray for them and encourage them.

I really appreciate every person on this board because they pour out their hearts to help one another.  I enjoy singing, reading, shopping and spending time with my family (My mom, sisters and brothers).

Robin

Hi LB,   I don't post that often but I do lurk every day.  I am 61 years old but told I look younger.....thank God to good skin care products that my daughter sends me.  She is a PA dermatologist in Fla, and I get care packages from her every now and then.  I have two other kids, boy and girl, my youngest is 29.  I am married for God knows how long to a wonderful man.  I had my RNY is May of 06 and have lost approximately 113 lbs. and 12 lbs from my doctor's goal which is 192lbs.  I had my rny by Dr. David Harrington at RIH.  It's hard now because it's been so long since my surgery and the pouch as gotten a bit  bigger and I can tolerate more foods.  I have to be careful now and watch what I eat as carbs go down very well and proteins are a little harder to digest.   I too worked at Bank of America aka Fleet.  It was Industrial National Bank.  That was in the early 60's .........YIKES  I am old!!  Right now I am collecting unemployment but looking for a part time night job, just in case any of you know of any night  jobs, I am available.  It's nice to meet you all and LB that was a great idea you had to introduce yourself and it seems that many of us did the same thing....Carol B

My name is Jaime, and I am 30yrs old.  I have lived in Warwick my entire life. I have married to my H.S. sweetheart for 8 years. We have 2 wonderful boys, Matthew (6) and A.J.(17 months). I work inside sales at a safety company and I own a inflatable party rental business. The real wkeup call came last summer when we had to luge these big units to and from partys and I could bearly breath doing it. I had become so comfartable in my life that I did not see that my weight had gotten so high. I have always been overweight but now way beyond that! I want to be able to tie my sons ice skates with out having to take a break between feet! I want to be able to go out on the ice with him. I am sooo happy for the decision I have made and can not wait for the next chapter in my life to begin.      I was approved for the Lap band and I am in the process of all the Pre-Op testing. I have changed my mind and gotten the courage to decide on the Rny surgury. I have to wait for the medical to approve me to do the other testing. The people on the board are truley amazing and you guys have given me the strenghth to do what I need to change my life and actually live it o the fullest. THANK-YOU

Hi Jamie! Its nice to meet you and hear your story! That must have been tough to change your mind about which surgery you wanted to have... go with your gut! You also have your hands full with 2 boys! They must keep you very busy!

It sounds like you have a great support system and are on your way with testing! Let us know if you have any questions along the way.

Hope to see you at the next support group meeting at Roger Williams - you are still welcome as a RIH patient!
