Its the little things......

I've been focusing a lot on motivation because for me, I know its one of the keys to me being successful. The biggest motivation it seems has been coming from "the little things" You know those things that people who have never had weight issues take for granted? Example: I've never had a pair of boots that were knee high because they never fit my fat legs. Finally, today..I have on my first pair of knee high boots! This to most people would be a silly thing to get excited about but to me its one of the "little things" that keeps me motivated and excited about this journey and wanting to keep on track and headed toward a healthier me.  So I thought I'd see what the rest of you had been noticing , What are the little things that keep you motivated? The things most people take for granted that we as WLS folks revel in?

Angela, I'm pre-op, but one of the things I have always thought about doing post op is exactly what you wrote about this morning...wearing boots....I am in the same situation....never been able to wear them because I could never get them to fit my legs...so CONGRATS on that milestone!!!  I hope I can write about that same thing post op! You GO girl!!

I can list a few of the little things that are monumental to me!

-fitting in the chair at work comfortably
-fitting in the seat at the movies
-buying shoes that are not extra wide width

Angela,     Hard to believe but this happens to be my #1 I'm looking forward too. I spent yrs wanting to have knee high boots. My husband took me all over the state and then went into other states because I cried so badly wanting them.. needless to say, I never found a pair that fit. There is a store called Torrid that is for big girls. I even went there because they catered to the large calfs.. No Bueno!        So, I know how you are feeling right now and CONGRAT'S!!! A Milestone indeed!!!!

I was soo excited about the same thing!! I love shoes now. Another thing that I was soo happy about was to not have to worry about where to go out to eat and fitting in the seats. This is so awsome to go anywhere and just go not have to worry and make excuses!!!!!!
