Anyone else having trouble with the dreaded hair loss?  I bought some Biotin last night at GNC - anyone tried this?  Did it work? Pam

I thought I was going to get lucky and not be subject to the hair loss, but I'm beginning to see more and more on my clothes these last few days. Not enough to worry yet, but its in the back of my mind now. I just went crazy though too and went and had my hair highlighted with red, so it could be that too. I havent tried the biotin personally, but a lot of people on the boards swear by it. Let us know if it works for you !

funny you mention coloring your hair - I have to do my roots soooooooo bad - but I"m afraid to put any chemical in it with it falling out so bad.  I have baby fine hair, so falling out is going to be very difficult for me. I'll keep you updated on the biotin Pam

Hi Pam,

Sorry to hear about your hair.  That's something I was concerned about to.  I talked about it the RI monthly meeting and most of the people were not too concerned about it.  Also, they never mention the biotin.   Let me know what you think about it, because I may have to buy some.

Biotin did not seem to make a difference with me.  It couldn't hurt though....

Hi Pam!

I have not tried Biotin, but I heard that prenatal vitamins work too!  My best friend is a hairdresser and she said just keep up with the proteins - because lack of them makes it fall out.  I have been doing one 25g protein shot per day and it seems like my hair is not coming out as much as before.

Hi Pam:

I have been losing my hair slowly but steadily since Christmas time. I was really freaked out about it but I really think that only made it worse. When I saw Dr G I asked her about it and she said that its totally normal and nothing that you take or do will change the fact that its going to happen.

To make myself feel better, I cut my hair short - to my chin and it makes it look much fuller. Dont worry, it will grow back!

I never tried the bioton.. but my childrens chewables has it in them. I had some major hairloss but im actually seeing it get better. I am 9 months out now..so I think keeping up with proteins and all the suggested or needed vitamins, it will come back on its own. Least thats how it seems to me.

Good Morning Pam, Yes, I had that same experience with hair loss.  I never tried the Biotin, although I had heard of it.  I waited it out, and it grew back.  I kept my hair on the short side and I also had it colored too.  In fact I had it bleached.  Everything was ok and my hair came back.   Carol B
