ok- just got back from my sleep study.  I am a disgusting sticky mess!.  I have all this glue stuff in my hair- yuck.  I am waiting till a few more people are up in the house before I make noise with taking a shower, etc.  I know I woke up at least a few times during the night (even after taking an Ambien) so have no clue what those results will look like or if I will have to go back on Friday (hope not!).  I was originally scheduled for Friday pm- this past one- for the 1st study, but was not up to it, so we pushed it till Sunday.  With the weather, they wanted to reschedule me anyway.  Guess I should be hearing in a few days if I need to go back or not.  Fingers crossed that I don't! I hear the dogs stirring now- time to put em out and off to the shower.  God- I hope this stuff washes out fairly easily!!!

Congrats on being done with another part of the process! I HATED the sleep study...it was awful. I had such a horrible time getting the glue out of my hair so I called the sleep study office and they suggested using dish detergent that says it can cut through grease. I did and it worked. If you have a hard time getting the glue out, try that!

Thanks for the advice- though I didn't see your post until too late.  It took washing the hair 3 times and conditioning between time 2 and 3 (i figured it wold add some slip to the hair to make it come out).  Now to wait for the call to see if I need to come back

Just got the call!!!!!  I don;t have to go back!!!!!  I also don't have to do my follow up apt with the sleep RNP.  I am so excited!!!  (and if my last tests weren't fasting bloodwork- I would be there RIGHT NOW!!!!!!)  Just the bloodwork and I am done- so cool to be so close to one finish line and ready to move onto my new life!!!

Hi Alexia,

It takes some work but the sticky stuff does come out (lol).  The sleep study is difficult because your all hooked up to those wires and you really can't move.   Unfortunately, I  have been using a cpap machine for two years now, so I am use to the mask and all that goes with it.  The only problem I had was the wires, and I am surprised I slept as well as I did.    I hope you don't have to go back to.

Good for you Alexia! Another rung of the ladder climbed. Great job!  I am soooooo not looking forward to the sleep study. I have a very difficult time getting comfy at night and have to read until I can't hold my eyes open anymore.  I'm glad you have that done! Happy Monday! Jules

Jules- I am a terrible sleeper too.  I spoke about it when I went for the consult and she prescribed me a few Ambien- one to try beforehand to see how it worked and if I had any side effects, and 2 for the studies (if I needed to go back).  The Ambien worked very well for me at home, but just ok at the study, but I did sleep enough for them to see I didn't have apnea.   Tomorrow- blood work!!!  LAST TESTING!!!! and then a call to Dr Roye's office!!!

Who sends you for the bloodwork? Your primary physician or the WLS doc? Later, Jules
