Dietary Consultation done today

Ok, just saw the Nutritionist.  She was very nice, and of course told me those same things I already knew, but find so hard to put into practice.  She did, however, give me plenty of info on the post-surgery diet.  It just got me more excited and ready to move forward.   Next up, my PCP tomorrow.  I see him every 3 months anyway (and in January I saw him 4 times between my own repiratory infection and my son's).  But this visit is supposed to be my annual checkup, and I will also be asking for the required note to give to Dr Pohl.  Looking forward to discussing all of this with him.

Just a hint on this "note". He actually wants more than just a...Cara wants the surgery and I agree.  He is looking for your doctor to ensure that you are fit for surgery and so is your insurance company.  Good luck on your list...  :O)

Yes, Dr Pohl did make that clear the night of the seminar, but thanks so much Danielle for the reminder!  It never hurts to have that clarified again.  One good thing is that my doctor has 10 patients who have had the surgery done by Dr Pohl, (all doing well, he added), so he probably has an idea of what he needs to say.  But I will for sure remind him that he needs to be honest about whether or not I am able to have the surgery from his point of view.  Thanks again for keeping me on the right track!

OH!  That is great.  I was not clear on it and ended up getting a bit delayed while I made another appointment with my PCP to get the right "note".  Just wanted to make sure you didn't fall into the same situation..

You're well on your way Cara! Pretty soon it will all be a blur and you'll be on the losers bench!

At this point, I am assuming the thing that will take the longest time is getting thru Aetna.  They are tough, but they're gonna pay for my surgery this spring....even if they don't think they are.  So far...all is going along as planned...no monkey wrenches yet.

I went to Bain and then Cranston West.  They changed the line when I was in 9th grade, as I was supposed to go to East originally.  I graduated HS in '75.  My son now goes to Western Hills (7th grade) and will go to West later on.  I left RI after graduation and lived in Nashville for the next 25 yrs or so.  I have only been back here for about the last 10 yrs.  It never ceases to amaze me at what a small state this is...and how quirky it is.  I love being back home.
