Surgery and Time Off

Hi All,

I have a question?   Once you have the wls, RNY, how long are you out of work ? 1 week, 2 weeks etc.

I have to vent!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to the doctors today, primary care office.  My Dr. is out on maternity leave and another Dr. is covering for her.  My doctor has me out of wor****il 3/31/2008 and the other Dr. wants me to go back to worknow (mind you I will see Dr. Ryder on 2/25/08 and get a surgery date). My job already has a letter from my primary stating my possible date of return.  What's this ladies problem??????   I had to have her fill out my AFLAC form and she messed it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She stated she was going to call my Dr. to see  what's going on.   I think she's out of line especially since I have already spoken with my Dr. prior to her going on maternity leave and she understands all of what's going on.   Anyway, I am going to just pray because the AFLAC is my source of income for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robin -  I stayed out of work for 4 1/2 weeks - I was on TDI and Dr. Roye told me I could have up to 8 weeks.  I really felt I was ready to go back after the 3rd week - but with the holidays I was exhausted.  My cousin just had her surgery, she went back to work after 2 weeks - I think it's all in what you're comfortable with.
