Hey all,  well it has been 6 days since surgery and i must say it has been interesting getting used to the new me.  The drain incision started to leak profusely sunday afternoon so the nurse at RWH told me it was normal and to rest, going for a walk around the block wasnt a good idea.  The next morning i talked with Dr Pohl and he said to go about my normal activities and keep changing the gauze.  I did and later that day it stopped whew thats over with.  I can only take 2 to 3 small sips at a time depending on what im drinking and im full.  So i sip every 5 to 10 mins.  They say to take in 64 oz of fluids per day does that include shakes or not?  I am finding it hard to get in a lot of water/ crystal light but its going in and not coming back up.  Also i noticed on my diet program it says i can have broth or boulion instead of beverages, is this for week 2 and on or can i do it now any suggestions?  I know i ask a lot from you all but its more just me wanting to know the option you all did so i can try different things, i know what i need to do thats not the problem just looking for extra knowledge to add to my brain LOL! ! ! Lets all stay Sexy, Thanks Donnie

Hi Donnie! Glad that the incision stopped leaking...the same thing happened to me, but it was a quick thing.

As far as the liquids, I was told that everything, shakes, water and broth count towards your fluids.

I tried some FF Chicken broth at about 1.5 weeks post op and had no problem. Just make sure that it isnt too hot because that might irritate your pouch!

Keep the questions coming, its the only way to know for sure!

Good luck and hopefully we will see you at the next support group!

At 6 days I was told by Dr. Pohl I could have cottage cheese and yogurt. You might want to give the office a call and ask them if it is ok for you too.  Have a good one! Leslie
