This morning I called Dr Pohl as directed and he mentioned the possibilty of a stricture and said we'd do an endoscopy just as Dr Lentrichia said he would. So...I got a call shortly after getting off the phone with Dr Pohl from the hospital and was told to be at RW at 1:30 for my endoscopy and to make sure I had a ride. Called up Sue (Cuppybunny) who had offered the night before to take me in if needed and got to RW at the directed time. registered, went back and had the endoscopy. When I woke up the nurse told me that there were no problems with my pouch and everything looked good so then the Dr who did the endoscopy called Dr Pohl and the next thing I know I was told that Dr Pohl wanted me admitted and hooked to an IV, since I havent been getting fluids in he was worried about dehydration so back to registration and then up to the old familiar 4th floor. Thats when they made their mistake....they left me sitting alone in the room for quite a while and the anesthesia from the endoscopy was wearing off.Sue is there with me and the longer I sat there in that room the more I loathed being there. Finally I looked at Sue very seriously told her , I really dont want to be here. I feel fine and they've said theres no problem with the pouch so if Dr Pohl wants me hydrated then cant I do that at home?Besides that I had no idea if the problem persisted since I hadnt been allowed to have anything to eat or drink all day due to the endoscopy.  They were talking keeping me for a few days and if I could avoid it, at that point I was going to. Sooo..I called Dr Pohls office and explained that he'd just admitted me and I needed to talk to him. They had him call me back within a few minutes and I explained that I had a huge thing going on at work, I felt fine and the endoscopy showed no problems so did he think it was something that I really needed to be at the hospital or could I possibly do something more at home and wait. He said his main concern was that I wasnt getting water, that the food issue may just be my pouch being picky and might happen once in a while and would hopefuly clear up on its own but he needed to get fluids into me. Then we  agreed that if I could hold down a few cups of water and not get sick that I could go home on the agreement that I would get in as much water as I could and if things persisted I would be readmitted this weekend.  After 2-3 drinks as usual the nausea set it, but we had discussed that perhaps if I pushed it,  I could get the water down. I did and managed to get enough water in for them to allow me to be released for now. We'll see what the next couple days bring and hope that it is just my pouch being a grouch but I know I'll push water as much as possible and hope that helps. On another note, I got to talk several times with Donnie as he walked the halls, He's doing well and just trying to walk the gas pains off. He should be home on Saturday and I'm sure we'll hear from him shortly after.  Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments. It means a lot to me to know that you're all here and available. Now just keep positive thought thats I dont have to be readmitted this weekend.

Angela,

I'm so sorry for what you are going through, and I had no idea! Yikes!! I think you'll do fine getting tha****er down... just make sure you call doc if you have an issue! Very important. I know of someone else with this issue. She is learning through the nutritionist of what she can do to maintain her proteins and all while this is going on. You might want to contact them too. Glad you're ok!! ~Dawn
