What daily vitamins did everyone use since surgery? How many all together? This happens to be the last thing on my list to get.

When I saw the nutritionist, for the lapband she recommended flintstones complete chewables or centrum chewables.  Any of these to be taken with a chewable citri-calcium.   Though- that is with the lapband, not sure if the mal-absorbtion with the RNY changes the recommendations at all.   Sorry I'm not a huge help- and I still can't believe how close you are to your date!!!  (still happy dancing for ya)

Hi Dawn:

Everyday I take the following vitamins...
-3 calcium chewables with Vitamin D (you need the Vitamin D or you wont absorb the calcium)
-2 multivitamin chewables with Iron
-Prilosec
-B12
-B Complex

I have my 3 month appointment on Monday and just went for bloodwork today to check all of my levels...hopefully these vitamins did the trick!

I take two gummy sour flinstones in the morning and two more at night.  I also take a chewable calcium with a vitamin D supplement.

I went to the local health food store- they are far more knowledgeable than I will ever be.  I take a multi-vitamin, Calcium (you want calcium citrate- harder to find), iron, & have just started an under-the-tongue B12. In my recent blood tests, the B12 was severely depleted (everything else was good or better) & I rec'd a shot. I am hoping the new vitamin helps. Good luck!

I'm not sure how much help I'll be Dawn, but I take the Optisource vitamins made for bariatric surgery patients (4/day) and a Super B Complex once a day

Thank you everyone! Flintstones Complete - Yummo :) Need Vitamin D Supplement to absorb calcium. I will go to back to Whole Foods! Dang, I was there last night putting around. :) Is the B12 important? What role does it play?

B-12 helps form healthy red blood cells.  It is essential for the nervous system. Without it you can become anemic- tired, unable to fight germs, etc.  I was so tired that I needed naps from my naps. You get B-12 from meat & dairy, & eggs.  We just can't eat enough to get it. We also lost the part of our intestine which absorbed it.
