  i am on medicade and medicare and am going through doctor giovanni  i weighed 344 when i seen her but than got up to 357 now i am at 339 she said i had to lose 25 lbs before i made another appt. what i am wondering is does she call the medical insurance before we are done with test or afteror are we the ones who get the approval from the medical company

You may want to call Dr. Giovanni's office to see whether you do your pre-op before authorization or after authorization.

Hi Patti, Call the office, but I believe that you must have some of your tests done before they submit for approval.  Mostly because they want things like Psych eval and your doctors physcial to be completed as evidence for the insurance approval.
