Time for some Honesty
Hi all
I was banded Dec 14. I have lost 23lbs so far. I just had my first fill Monday and feel no difference. I really needed the restriction. I have not felt any real restriction since the week after my surgery. I have no regrets about being banded but I really feel like it's not the band that has made me lose weight, but the liquid diet and light excercise. I have been eating with no problems. Chicken tends to get stuck, especially if it's dry. The feeling of things getting stuck is not the same a the feeling of restriction RIGHT???? I know that 1 c. portions will not last until my next fill in MONTH. I feel quilty when people comment on my weight lose because I feel like I have been cheating. I have been cheating. I had ice cream last night. I'm really feeling conflicted and I know that I am on the verge of a major set back if I can't get a handle on it.
I am going to throw myself in the gym starting tomorrow morning. I also got a puppy for Christmas and we take short walks every evening. The IceCream is gone. I have to concentrate.
Anyone else not following the program to the letter? Eating like you did when you were on a regular diet? Band......what band????

Hello,
It's great that you are being hones about your eating after your surgery. I have not had my surgery yet and probably won't have until some time in March. Since the beginning of January have began to change things about my eating now! Yes, it's a challengem everyday! Hang in there and begin to use all the information you received from your Dr., this board and your support system. You can do this! I will definetly keep you in my prayers.

I haven't had my surgery yet but it sounds like to me you just need to take your time and when you catch yourself cheating jump right back on that horse and say you know I shouldn't be eating this. It is so good that you are honest about it.... But I know when I spoke to my doctor about the band she told me it was a lot of work you have to put into it to get the same results as bypass surgery. So, just go the extra mile and join that gym the weight will come if you eat and work out and if you fill like you are not restricted enough talk to your doctor he probably can fix th problem.
Best wishes!!!
I did not and still do not follow the program to a T. I have lost 100lbs and it has taken me 2 years. You need to know that right now will have little to no restriction. You might not even really feel your next one, but I promise the third you will feel. It still make take up to 4 - 5 before you hit your sweet spot.
As for this feeling of things getting stuck - that is restriction.....
Good luck, it will take time but you will do fine.
