Me now!    I am a professional Driver of Buses, trucks and Limousines. I hold a CDL class B. I've always loved driving. Which I was laid off yesterday morning... and thrilled to death too. I have recently signed on to Lincoln Technical Institute and begin March 10th for Medical Assistant. I also am President, Founder of a Scientific Research Group called Four Seasons Paranormal. What we do is, help clients that assume they have a haunting going on in their home, trying to debunk by finding natural causes. If there is a haunting, we collect scientific data. and later correlate our findings. Servicing business, residential, and historical buildings. ~Dawn

I have my masters degree in Literacy Education and I teach fifth grade at Pennfield School in Portsmouth and it is such a great place. I love the kids and the families and most of all...the people I work with. I am also applying to the nursing program at CCRI because I want to be a nurse practitioner.

Hi! I work at a RI credit union; currently I train new employees (tellers, service reps, assistant managers and managers) for the 11 branch locations. I've worked at the CU for almost 7 years, with positions ranging from teller to assistant branch manager before moving "behind the scenes".

I work down in Newport at Newport Hospital.  I've worked there for almost 5 years and just love it!  I started out working the switchboard then moved around a bit - went to registration next then to my current position working as a Financial Counselor - challenging but in a good way  - I love helping people and this provides me with a way to do so in a healthcare setting without having a Nursing or MD degree.   If you're ever down our way - stop by to visit :) Pam

Geeze, I read all of your posts regarding your jobs and you are all sooo damn educated and smart!!  Right now I am not working, but collecting unemployment and trying to find a part time job.  I retired from the Town of Seekonk as the clerk of the Building/Zoning Dept.  I worked there for over 17 years. (I left because I got tired for teaching new building/zoning inspectors the clerical part of the job and the zoning rules.  It was a very stressful job at times and I was getting old.  I then left and took two part time jobs for awhile until this past October and lost both within a week.  Now I am looking for something else part-time and there is nothing out there that pays decently.  I dont have any degrees so that make a huge difference in what i do and my pay scale.  If anyone knows of anything out there part time i.e. clerical, customer service or cashiering..let me know.. I'm a paralegal by trade, but am currently a stay at home mom, and I do a little data entry for a friend in the real estate business.  I'm also applying for SSDI due to the fibromyalgia so I don't really work at all.  The doctors have said I can work 10 hours a week.  Yipee!  What kind of job that pays decently is only 10 hours a week?  Anyway it is a blessing in disguise because I get to be with my girlies full time. HI Danielle!

I agree with you HR is no fun! I am constantly taking care of employees problems and requests and it gets a little annoying! The worst is Health care issues! Many of our guys do not speak English very well and I get stuck doing their phone work that takes up time!

I even had to let my new Bo know that there will be a lot of employees (guys) who will ne coming to me with hugs and kisses> He had NO problem with it BUT the ex did!

The worst thing I had to do (at another job) was fire an employee for stealing - it was not easy BUT I did it!

Why don't you give a bank a try or try for a human services position since you have had the people experience or try cox communications. My cousin works there and she loves it!

HI Kim!  I believe that HR will have its challenges, but feel that I want to make a difference.  While I believe that firing someone would not be easy, as long as it is justified I wouldn't have a problem with it.  For instance your example of a the guy who was stealing.....what did he think the outcome would be??? Thanks for your suggestions I will look into them...
