2 weeks to go
Today i started my liquid diet yay, it has been o****pt myself busy going to the dentist and to have my PRE OP testing at the hospital. If anyone has any ideas about meal plans for the next 2 weeks i will def appreciate it, rather than chicken and broccoli every night oh and can you eat baked chiken or does it have to be boiled. Thanks
First of all, good luck with your pre-op diet...you will be fine! I did my pre-op diet from September 10th to October 22nd and I had my surgery on October 23rd. I was asked by Dr G to lose 20 lbs before surgery and I really wanted to make sure that my insides were prepared to make sure that the surgery was easy. I mainly ate my version of chicken parm for dinner. I found a No Sugar added pasta sauce made by Hunts, I would grill a piece of chicken, top with sauce and fat free mozzarella cheese with some type of veggie and that was dinner. You could also have steak on the grill, turkey cutlets, etc. Believe me, its so worth it! Good luck!

Good Luck! The liquid diet gets so much easier after a few days. I know a couple days in I was so sure I would never be able to do it but it went by quickly.
I did a lot of chicken stir fry. a little chicken breast, some peppers, onions, broccoli, etc sauteed with just a little cooking spray and that was my main dish. You dont have to do chicken though, as Laura said turkey, lean beef, etc is acceptable too.
i am def going to be mixing it up a bit, but ive been on such a good diet that i was wondering is this a carb free/fat free diet because it does not say anywhere in my paperwork that you can not have a half baked potatoe or a slice of 15 grain toast with dinner. I am just curious so i can plan better. Thanks for the tips.
I know Dr Pohl told me 3oz lean meat and 1/2 cup vegetables only. It is supposed to get you ready for the surgery and I know if you gain weight before or if you eat ANYTHING the day before surgery he will cancel you.
I would try to stay away from the carbs and fats, you could always call his office and they will direct you better.
Good Luck!
