Look i am supposed to have my surgery on feb 6th and i have had nothing but bad luck 4 weeks in a row all on fridays , 1st i was in a bad car accident and i was ok but my beautiful truck is in the shop, then i went my seperate ways with my gf which wasnt too bad but id be lying if i said it didnt hurt a little, then i had a kidney stone 4mm cause some pain and ended up in the hospital 2 times in 3 days for it and then i had to have it blasted yesterday through surgery.  next friday the stint they put up there comes out.  so next wed i go for pre op testing for my gastric bypass im just worried they will cancel because of the stone problems even though its gone.  I am just a little bit sad right now.  the dr said it shouldnt delay me but im just messed up because ive worked so hard losing 52 lbs for pre surgery weight loss and i am ready to do it.  they said the stone was prob lodged from august because i didnt pass it and the accident prob moved it along so thats good news because it gone.  Between being in pain when i urinate and being alone i just needed somewhere to turn for some friendly words from you all.  Thanks for reading and letting me vent. Hi Donnie, Sorry about all the bad luck you've had lately...fortunately, they say that bad things happen in 3s, so now you're in the clear! It's great that you've worked so hard to have your surgery, that means you'll be successful post-op, as well.  I understand about freaking out over things not going right with the pre-op testing, my blood pressure was really high when I went for mine and I was terrified they were going to cancel the surgery on me (my dr just had to change my meds and then send a letter saying I was OK for surgery).

Try to stay positive and I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hey Donnie, We all go through some bad luck at some point in our life.  It just happens that yours are prone to Fridays.  Be happy that you have six other days in the week.....HAHA.  You've already been through the bad luck,  think of your bypass as future good luck and all it will bring (i.e. better health, new girlfriend, new clothes). Yes they do know about the stone i told him when i went for the 2nd follow up but tomorrow they find out about the procedure, but the dr who did it said it was better to do this now so i wont have complications with the bypass, he also said i should be back to normal before then as well.  Thanks a bunch!

Donnie, I am so sorry that you have had all of these issues.  There is a silver lining - you will find it soon.  Have you been in contact with Dr Pohl about your kidney stone?  Nice job on your 52lbs.....I am sure everything will work out fine.

Hi Donnie,     I'm so sorry for all your mishaps as of late. Losing 52 lbs. in the midst of all this is terrific news. What I do want you to know is. . . I am the "Queen of Mishaps 2007"  Been to hell and back. What you need to make sure you do is persevere. Tell yourself these Friday rituals are done and it won't happen again! Say I will prevail and Plug forth to that surgery! It will happen and it will go very well. I Prevailed a whole years worth! YOU WILL PREVAIL THIS! And Oh what a new life you have a ahead of you! ~Dawn

Are you going to the support group at Roger Williams Hospital?  If so, I'll be there too!  We can all commiserate with you over your truck, your kidney stone and stay "so long" to the gf. You will be great! Leslie

So sorry you've had a run of bad luck Donnie, but as Danielle said...chances are your bad luck is over and its time for the good luck to start.  I'll also be at the support group Thursday, see you there.
