Medical Alert Bracelet

Did anyone get a medical alert bracelet to alert emergency medical professionals that you have a gastric Lap Band or have had gastric bypass?  Is it a good idea to get one? and if you have one, what is written on it? Thanks Nancy

I havent gotten one, but I have thought about it. There are some really nice ones if you google them and most places give examples of what to put for Gastric bypass but the general one says something to the effect of Gastric Bypass- No NG Tube without Scope.  Good Luck!

I haven't thought about that?  God forbid if something did happen, by having Gastric Bypass are there precaustions the med-techs need to know about????

My sister bought me a beautiful one for Christmas.  Nice to see I was supported in my choice huh? It says "No NSAIDS", "Gastric RNY No Blind NG tube" I don't know if I need it, but I am happy that I have it, I feel more secure having it than not. Leslie
