Hi Sara,

I have United Healthcare(I work for the State of Rhode Island) and Medicare.  Thank God I don't have any co-pays.

Like others have said, all plans are different. Mine is a Blue Chip, and I had a $250 deductible for the EGD and a $500 surgery deductible. I would call BCBS and they will tell you if you have a deductible with your plan.  Good Luck!

all are different but it should be listed on your card.  If not they are very helpful when you call.  I have a $250 co-pay for outpatient (which I expect to be with the lap-band) and a $500 copay for hospitalizations

Yours is same as mine Alexia, the EDG (if your dr does it) is considered outpatient so its $250. If you're admitted and end up in a room, wich I assume you will be with surgery its a $500 co-pay.  Sorry, but I wanted you to be prepared.
