suregry co-pay insurance?

so......it never occurred to me that i might have to fork over a large amount of money. does anyone else have bcbsri healthmate? break it to me gently. when i walk into that hospital on tuesday am i going to fall out of my chair during registration?

I also paid nothing.  For the EDG I got a co-pay bill for $500.00, but my company took care of that under their private insurance.

Sara - each Healthmate policy is different - some employers save money by offering a plan that has a plan with a high deductible.  Call the number on the back of your card to ask them what your responsibility will be.  Also you could call the financial counseling office at the hospital you'll be going to and they can tell you what your benefit is by looking it up on Blue Cross' website.   I work in financial counseling at Newport Hospital - feel free to call me at work for any additional insurance questions - if you email me I'll give you my office phone # - my email is [email protected].
