weight gain....surgery cancelled?
so when i left dr. roye's office in november, they told me no liquid diet necessary, which is great. they also said not a thing about putting on a few pounds during the holiday season. honestly.....i knew i was going to put on some pounds because of thanksgiving and christmas, but i actually thought i had been pretty good. i have been at the gym, worked out with my trainer, and have been drinking protein drinks. of course, i am a week away from my period, but still. i just weighted myself and i am up 8 pounds. i find it hard to believe, although i did drink somewhere close to one hundred ounces of water today and 84 grams of protein. maybe weighing myself at 7 at night wasn't the best idea. anyway.....would they cancel surgery if i have gained weight? if so, i am drinking nothing bu****er until that bariatric bootcamp meeting next thursday for my final weigh-in and nutrition meeting.
I was told (from somewhat of an outsider, yet linked) that if I gained weight, I would not be able to go through with the surgery.
Just to be on the safe side...I would follow through on a liquid diet. I don't think any doctor would gripe about a few pounds (2-4) as woman have always carried water weight but 8 might be pushing it.
Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

hi i have Dr. Roye and I'm so sorry to hear they didn't inform you about not gaining any weight. He is very serious about that. On my 2nd visit when I actually got to meet him and get a surgery date I lost 2 lbs. form the initial visit. Then the day of the surgery I was up 2.5 lbs (5 days before surgery was my b-day and my farewell to fat party) He said nothing about the weight gain. I think you'll have no problem from now till your surgery you'll be able to lose a few pounds if you really watch your intake and I agree that you probably are building muscle just explain all this to them if you have a problem at your last weigh-in. Good luck
