A local food find...

Its not technically a find since I’ve known about it a long time, but I’ve just recently REALLY looked at this place.

The market at Cutler Mills in Warren , it’s a small organic, whole foods kind of place. It’s a fairly small place and like any organic store the prices are a bit higher but what I really like about them is the deli and butcher. Its a nice place to go if you're like me and Whole Foods is quite a little drive.

The address is

137 Child St. Warren
…if anyone wants directions just let me know

I purchased some extra lean ground beef the other day that was out of this world! It was so dark and hardly any visible fat in it at all and grilled it was the best hamburger I’ve ever had. For $4.69/pound I’ve told my husband that I wont purchase any other ground beef again and he agreed.

I also purchased some chicken sausages. The guy behind the counter highly recommended them and they looked so good. We’re going to have those tonight with some peppers and onions..YUM!  I’ll have to let everyone know how those are but I have high expectations.

Hi, I actually work just down the road from them it is a weekly stop in for us at work.  Whenever anyone mentions Cutler Mills, the whole office orders something. It is a GREAT find. Tracy

Hey Angela, Did you know that Whole Foods is now open in Cranston?  I know it is still a trek for you, but the store is gorgeous and the staff is wonderful. I went in to find bile salts to replace what is lacking since my GB was removed during the WLS, and they ordered it for me and called me when it came in.  Great service.  You won't find that at Stop and Shop, that's for sure! Hi Leslie,  Yes, I actually went in there after my last NUT appt because shes right down the road from it and I did like it, but  like you said, its quite a little drive for me and I thought perhaps a few others in my area might be interested in this store.  How are you feeling now?

I work about 5 mins from Cutler Mills but have never been there! I have passed it quite a few times and have always wanted to stop in - now I'll have to make a point of it. I am fortunate enough to have 2 Whole Foods markets within a 10 min drive from my house. I have wanted to go to the Cranston one, but I hear it's fabulous and I know I would just spend way way too much money. BTW, one of my New Year's resolutions is to eat more organic and whole foods, so I guess I'll be shopping a places like those a lot more (I'll also be very poor!)

Krista,  Try the chicken sausages from the meat counter at Cutler Mills, they were awesome! I made them last night with some sauteed pepper and onion and just a bit of Teriyaki.
