Post-Op and Medication(s) For RNY Surgery

Hello Everyone,

I have a question about meds after surgery.    After surgery I will still have to medication(s) for a condition I have the weight loss surgery can't aleviate.  If you still had to take meds how did you do it (crush them)????

Hi Robin, Yes I crushed my meds and put them in yogurt. The Dr will instruct you on what to do. Good Luck, Claudia

If the pills are small I usally don't have a problem.  For ones that a bigger I use a pill cutter and cut them into small pieces.

Hi robin,  I dont have any issues with taking pills post-op which was a little surprising to me, I didnt think I would be able to but they started giving me pills in the hospital and there was no issue.  You could always try just splitting them post-op first and see if you have an issue Just a thought...
