Hello Everyone, I was wondering how long you have to wait for the actual sleep study once you have done the consultation. Thanks, Robin

Hello, It depends on a few things- like where you want it, other bookings, & any limitations you may have.  Mine was 1 1/2 mos., but my center only held 2.  And then you need a consult for the results.  One slow process.  And longer if you actually have apnea.  It's actually quicker if you go through your own Dr.  Then you don't have to wait so long for the consults. Good luck Islander

The study was 2 months after my consult. The follow-up, which was actually scheduled at the time of the consult app. was  for 5 weeks after the study. 3 months/1 week, quite a long stretch!  That's not included in the time it took to get the actual consult appointment. My PCP office sent it in and told me I'd hear from the hospital themselves. They called me and gave me a date for 6 weeks later! That has been the hold-up for me.

Thanks for the responses. I have my initial consult 1/7/2008 and I made the appt. today.  I already use the cpap machine and I see my pulmanary doctor 2x's a year and he's located at the APC building at Rhode Island Hospital. So you go for the initial consultation, then the sleep study itself and then another consult for the results?     Robin
