ok- anyone know the name of this mean blonde chick??  I need to make sure NOT to see her- I swear I will be carried out by men in white coats from this.

Alexia, The pyschiatrist I saw I think her last name is Atriullane (sp) and she was not blonde, but brunette/black hair.   Just be yourself and try not to be nervous . Robin

Dear Robin, 

I went to the "negative doctor" everyone seems to be talking about.  She said she would make a recommandation not to approve my surgery, but could not stop me from having it. I would need to go to group counseling. She  came up with with the reason I had low self esteem. WHAT WOMEN WITH A BMI OF >40 TRUELY HAD GREAT SELF ESTEEM, THAT IS NOT LYING about it!  my guess is not many.  I was dumbfounded when I left that office.  I did not see that recommendation coming!!!  I had great self-esteem when I was a size 2!. I do go to a support group near where I live.  She wanted me to go to theirs. I called Dr. Roye's office, to voice my concerns. In the long run it did not have any impact on obtaining a surgical date. Which is Jan 23, 08. I'm guessing it must have been the same Dr., because she seem to have the same tone with me. Anyway keep up the good work. and good luck!!!!!!!

Hi Laurie, It seems that the psych eval from Dr. Zimmerman's office is much to be desired.  Most of the feed back regarding Dr. Zimmerman's colleagues was not good.   You are right about the self-esteem issue.  My bmi is 40.... and  I am not proud of that.   I don't like being morbidly obesed.  To say that I am proud of that is a lie.   I guess they would rather we lie then to be honest.   I am glad you got a date for your surgery anyway.   By the way, your surgery date is my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  All the best for a safe surgery and speedy recovery. that is exactly why I feel I am going to fail this.  I have very poor self esteem due to my body image.  I am intelligent enough to know that this is not a magic cure all instant fix.  I know I have to work hard at this, but it is a vicious circle right now, one can't be fixed without the other. 

I know what you mean.  The very fact that you understand that it''s not and instant cure and you'll have to work hard shows you understand what is entailed.   Keep your head up and try to think positive.   It will all work out. Robin
