Hi Everyone, I called and scheduled my pre-op testing (what work)   When I called to make the pysche  eval one of the Drs. did not accept my insurance and said if I get the appt. before the end of the year it will be 300.00 and in 2008 320.00.  The receptionist was nice and suggested I try one of the other Drs. on the list (thank God they accepted my insurance and I don't have to pay up front     I was able to get the nut. eval on tomorrow but all the others will be in January.

I did not do the food diary.  But she asked for a typical day of my eating habits (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks).   I was very honest and she went over what my eating will be like after the surgery.  She also give me a list of possible foods I would want in the house when I get home from the surgery.  Three weeks after the surgery I go back to the nut for a follow up.   I liked the nut she was very patient and informative.  Robin

Make sure that you go to Dr. Friedrich( Friedman?) and even though he doesn't take insurance it is worth it because he does appointments at night and they only last an hour and a half. I know that one of the other doctors ( Zimmerman) you have to go for a really long appointment in the morning and then go back again in the afternoon which means a day off of work. I found Dr. F to be charming and his secretary is fabulous.

Hi Sara, I did not chose Dr. Friedrich because of the Insurance (I am a single parent and that would be difficult for me to do at this time).   I am currently on medical leave because of another health issue and will not be returning to wor****il some time in May/June 2008 ( I am blessed to have this time off !!!!). I did chose Dr. Zimmerman because I don't have to worry about missing work.   You are right about his secretary she was very sweet and did advise me to check out the other Drs. if the money was an issue( that was very admirable on her part). One thing about the appointments - they keep your eye on the prize!  Your goal won't be out of your mind that's for sure. Good luck, Leslie
