Sleep Study

Can you share your experience? Did you sleep...if not  did you have to repeat the test? I dozed off a couple of times between 11:30 and 2am but that was it. For the rest of the night I was up. I have a hard time sleeping elsewhere other then home and even still I have trouble sleeping period. Then add a million wires attatched to my head and face and I'm a belly sleeper. It was a lowsy night for me. I came home and slept from 7:30-2:30.  The guy that did the testing told me it was a quiet night for me but that the doctor will discuss that with me in the follow-up. I'm hoping I won't have to repeat the test for obvious reasons ANd it will also stall my surgery date even longer. I'm alittle upset.

I had the sleep test - twice, the second time to put on the sleep apnea equipment.  Oh joy.  Anyway, I felt like I hadn't slept more than dozing, but in reality, I had some times where I slept quite deeply apparently.  I bet you did too.  That goop they put in your hair is nasty stuff isn't it?  Yuck.  Leslie

HI T, I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM SLEEPING DURING ANY OF MY SLEEP STUDY TEST. MY MOM DID AND SHE HAD TO GO BACK A SECOND TIME BUT THE SECOND TIME HER DR. PRESCRIBED A SLEEPING PILL TO HELP HER FALL ASLEEP.    ROBIN

It was the worst experience I have ever had. I had to repeat, but Lauren prescribed Ambien to me and I slept like a baby. I also brought my own down comforter and pillows.

I had a really hard time falling asleep also.  I felt like I kept dozing off and waking up all night.  They called me a few days later and said I had mild sleep apnea but they wanted me to go back for a second study.  That one was worse than the first one.  I really didn't sleep good. When I went back for the follow up she told me I had moderate sleep apnea.  She told me that I actually slept better the second night (even though I didn't think so)  So you may have slept more than you think.   Im just like you.....I hate sleeping anywhere but my own bed and I am a belly sleeper also. The lady had to keep telling me to stay on my back because I must have been trying to turn over.  Did they hook you up to the sleep apnea machine?  They didn't for me the first night but did the second.  Dont you just love that goo they put in  your hair??  Hopefully you wont have to go back

Thanks everyone... Now I'm thinking I might have to go back for a second time.  I could deal with the glue in the hair but the sticky circle things all over my face is what bother me the most. Plus my hair was stuck in it so when the hair in my face became annoying I had to pull it out of my head because it was attatched to the tape and my head...one end needed to give!  The scrapping of my head to stick those things to my head did not feel so well either. The bed wasn't that bad...it was just the sleep postion along with all the gadgets to my face and head. I felt like a science progect gone bad!  Just when I thought the Upper GI was the worse......
